چکیده

In this research, essential oils (EOs) were extracted through steaming from aerial parts of three plants: basil (Ocinum basilicum L.), peppermint (Mentha piperita L.) and oregano (Origanum vulgare form Sibiu County, Romania. The GC-MS analysis indicated that eugenol apiol the major compounds in EO. Timol, ɣ-terpinene, p-cymene volatile oil menthol methone main components first 48 h analysis, EO inhibition action was highest against Salmonella anatum (48%), followed by Aspergillus niger (26%), Bacillus cereus (21%) Saccharomyces cerevisiae (15%); maintained for 120 all samples. h, showed rate (50%) on B. cereus, A. (45%), S. (20%) no Salmonella; varied after 72h slightly increasing case strongly decreasing remaining constant cerevisiae. Oregano a very small antimicrobial action, only (12%) h.

Comparative Analysis of Intra-and Inter Populational Heterogeneity of the Essential Oils in White Savory Plants

White savory(Satureja mutica Fisch & C.A.Mey.) is one of the most widely used medicinal plants in food processing, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry due to the strongly scented and presence of phenolic compounds such as carvacrol and thymol. This experiment was carried out to evaluate the levels of inter and intra-populations variability of essential oil compositions of S. mutica grown in no...

Antimicrobial activity of some Satureja essential oils.

The genus Satureja is represented by fifteen species of which five are endemic and Satureja pilosa and S. icarica have recently been found as new records for Turkey. Aerial parts of the Satureja pilosa, S. icarica, S. boissieri and S. coerulea collected from different localities in Turkey were subjected to hydrodistillation to yield essential oils which were subsequently analysed by GC and GC/M...

Antimicrobial activity of some Salvia species essential oils from Iran.

The aerial parts of Salvia multicaulis, S. sclarea and S. verticillata were collected at full flowering stage. The essential oils were isolated by hydrodistillation and analyzed by combination of capillary GC and GC-MS. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the essential oils were studied against eight Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus pumulis, Enterococcus ...
